Many school students have no chance of receiving the appropriate medical care when needed

IPI COOP has rehabilitated a school room as an oupatient clinic.

In the clinic, a nurse works all day to provide pediatric ambulatory aid when needed by any student of the school. She also contributes to the health training program that is organized in the school.

An agreement has been subscribed with a general hospital in Dessie where all children who are severely ill or need further diagnostic tests and a pediatric expertize opinion are referred.

Currently all running costs are assumed by IPI COOP

Sustainability: The objective is that the clinic is self sustainable in the medium term. For this reason various ways are being explored between IPI and the school to make this possible.
